Abraham Lincoln's father was from Rockingham county Virginia and the house he was born in and lived in still stands. The house was built in the 1700's and burned but was rebuilt in the early 1800's off route 42 near Harrisonburg. The family lived there and even have family members buried in an adjacent cemetery. The house has fallen into disrepair but has now been placed on The Preservation Virginia's 2017 Most Endangered Historic Places list.
