Maryland Boy Finds Megalodon Tooth While Beach Combing

A 10-year-old Maryland boy is showing off his rare find on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Jaxson Hinton was recently combing the beach along Calvert Cliffs when he found a four-and-a-half-inch megalodon tooth. The nearly 50-foot sharks lived in the oceans millions of years ago, but the shoreline the father and son were searching is well-known for discoveries of megalodon teeth. Jaxson's dad has found hundreds of them over a couple of decades of fossil hunting there but only two are even close to the same size.
