Man Breaks Guinness World Record By Riding 55 Roller Coasters In A Week

Dean Stokes, an amusement park enthusiast from England, set a Guinness World Record by riding 55 roller coasters in Britain and Ireland within a single week. That amount of rides easily surpassed the required 30 for the record. He began his journey at Brighton Palace Pier and wrapped it up at Thorpe Park in Surrey. Stokes admitted he planned to ride more than 60 coasters, but unexpected park closures due to weather cut his attempt short. "I visited my first theme park as a teenager and quickly realized I loved the adrenaline rush," he told Guinness World Records, adding that his favorite ride of the week was the Icon at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. He now aims to ride every roller coaster across Britain and Ireland.
