Tariffs May Finally Force AriZona Iced Tea To Hike 99¢ Price

AriZona’s beloved 99-cent tallboy iced tea might be in danger as new tariffs double the cost on imported aluminum from 25% to 50%. The brand uses over 100-million pounds of aluminum a year, with 20% coming from tariff-hit Canada, making the longtime low price harder to sustain after more than 30 years. While AriZona’s debt-free, vertically integrated setup has helped it weather recessions and keep costs low, founder Don Vultaggio warns that continued pressure could finally force a price bump. For now, the company is holding steady and offering deals on plastic bottles, but the future of the iconic under-a-dollar can is uncertain
