Largest Great White Shark In The Atlantic Is By The Outer Banks

A massive great white shark is lurking in the waters off North Carolina’s Outer Banks. The non-profit organization OCEARCH says the nearly 14-foot-long great white shark named Contender was tagged earlier this year off the coast of Florida and is said to be the largest great white ever documented by researchers in the Atlantic. Contender's last known tracking was near Pamlico Sound off of Hatteras Island. Contender is believed to be about 30-years-old and weighs more than 16-hundred pounds.
