Buying a new car can be an intimidating process, and the prices only make it worse. The average price of a new car this month is nearly $50-thousand ($48,699), according to CarEdge.com. The automotive research site reports that new car prices in 2025 remain within a few percent of 2022’s all-time record highs.
It’s hard to believe you can actually get a fully loaded new car for less than half the average new car price, but it’s true. American drivers are in luck, as it turns out several affordable new cars have starting prices less than $25-thousand, and not just the base models. So, what’s the cheapest fully loaded car right now? The Nissan Versa SR, which starts at $22,330.
- The base model starts at just $17,190, but the trim model comes with standard features including heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, wired Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot and blind spot warning.
- Color options include Super Black, Gun Metallic or Brilliant Silver Metallic, but drivers can upgrade to premium colors like Aspen White Tricoat or Scarlet Ember Tintcoat for an extra $450.
- The Nissan Versa is the only fully loaded new car with a starting price under $23-thousand.
- The second least expensive fully loaded car is also a Nissan, the more powerful and larger Sentra SR.
