It's been rumored to be in development for decades, but now the long road to "The Long Walk" is nearly over. The Stephen King story, penned under his "Richard Bachman" pseudonym in 1979, has a premiere date and a trailer. The film adaptation, starring Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson and Mark Hamill, centers on Ray Garraty (Hoffman), who competes in "The Long Walk," a competition in which 50 teenage boys walk without rest. Each competitor must keep walking faster than three miles per hour, continuously, or risk being eliminated (literally). The last boy remaining earns a prize of his choosing. The film hits theaters September 12.
