An 18-year-old student in Worcestershire, UK, has found the most unique side hustle imaginable. Ella Woodland trained her three pet rats to paint by guiding their paws with baby food, and is making good money selling the paintings. The three rats, named Rumple, Reid, and Gubler, painted a few pictures on seven-by-seven canvases, and Ella decided to list a few for sale on the website Vinted.
One of her posts was found by someone and shared on X, and it went viral in a big way, grabbing over six million views. The few paintings she had listed sold, and she started getting requests. She’s now sold over 120 rat paintings, and made over $1,300 from them. What’s she done with the money? Like any good businessperson, she’s reinvested part of her profits into growing her business…she bought more rats.
