WATCH: Passenger Opens Emergency Door, Climbs On Wing Of Airplane In Miami

A passenger on an international flight from Columbia to Miami, Florida, was taken into custody after he climbed onto the wing of an aircraft.

American Airlines flight 920 had just landed and was taxiing to the gate when the passenger, identified as 33-year-old Christian Segura, decided to open the emergency door and climb onto the wing. Segura was initially detained by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol but was transferred to the custody of the Miami-Dade Police Department because he is a U.S. citizen.

Video footage obtained by WPLGshows the Segura standing on the wing, while another person inside the plane can be seen speaking with him. He eventually jumped off the wing and was detained by police officers. He told them he wasn't feeling well and was taken to the hospital after paramedics determined he had high blood pressure. He will be booked into jail when he is released from the hospital.

Authorities said that the incident did not cause any delays and that all the other passengers on the flight deplaned without incident.

"We thank our team members for their professionalism and apologize to our customers for the inconvenience," American Airlines said in a statement.
