Astronomers May Have Discovered A Dwarf Planet Beyond Pluto

There may be a new planet in the solar system. An astronomer from the Harvard and Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics has spotted an unknown object beyond Neptune that may be a dwarf planet, like Pluto. The icy object was discovered earlier this month at an observatory in northern Chile, and is currently being called 2026 ED138. Scientists say it's likely between about 400-one-thousand-miles wide, making it large enough to have its own gravity, which separates it from an asteroid. Astronomers add, however, that they still need to confirm its size before officially calling it a dwarf planet.
