Scientists Reveal AI-Powered Computer That Can Read Your Mind Through Brain Scans

Scientists in Israel have built an AI system that can recreate pictures people are looking at by studying their brain scans. Called Brain-IT, it picks up patterns that different brains share when they process images, allowing it to learn a new person’s patterns in about an hour. Earlier systems needed many more hours and often got colors or other details wrong.

The team trained the AI using real scans along with computer-made scans, which helped it learn without putting more people through long sessions in an MRI machine. The work also found 128 brain areas with shared roles in processing pictures, and researchers are now working on ways to decode sounds and video, and say reading dreams could someday be possible, though major challenges remain.
