With the start of the NFL season this week, sportsbooks are awaiting a heap of action. The American Gaming Association says nearly $30-billion will be wagered on NFL games through sportsbooks during the 2026 season. Growth is slowing down, however, with online gaming legalized in all but four states and the rise of prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket. Kalshi says $62.5-million has been traded on the NFL already this year.
