Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch says he almost found himself in a situation very similar to that of Tim Lambesis.
The As I Lay Dying frontman was recently sentenced to six years in prison for trying to hire someone to kill his estranged wife, and Welch admits in an article for Loudwire that he had the same kind of thoughts about his own ex.
Welch says he was in the midst of a serious drug problem at the time, but he was lucky enough to have a friend talk him out of doing anything violent. When he heard about Lambesis' arrest, he says he felt horrible for Tim's wife, but his heart also went out to Tim because he was reminded of his own struggles. Welch eventually met up with Lambesis before his sentencing, and he says he was surprisingly excited about the convicted rocker's future.
Welch says he's "seen God create overwhelming beauty out of a pile of ashes so many times," and he thinks something good will come out of this "horrible situation." He encourages people to send "positive vibes and prayers" to Lambesis, his wife, and everyone else involved in the ordeal.
