Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks will release a new solo album called 24 Karat Gold -- Songs from the Vault this fall.

The album will release on October 7th, but vinyl fans can buy a special limited edition double LP on September 29th.

Starting on August 5th, Nicks will preview songs on the new album via her Instagram account.

Nicks wrote the songs on the album mostly between 1969 and 1987.  Two of the songs were written in 1994 and 1995.  She was inspired to record the songs after listening to demos that had surfaced on YouTube.

On the album, Nicks explains:

"Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story. They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories — the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you."

Nicks will spend the fall touring with Fleetwood Mac.  The band will play the Verizon Center on October 31.
