Jeff Beck tells Rolling Stone that he is wrapping up work on a new album.  But, he's not sharing many details, "I think I'd rather save the surprise."

The legendary guitarist last released a studio album in 2010.  It was called Emotion & Commotion.

Now, Beck says he is putting the finishing touches on a followup.  "We’ve done most of the track cutting in big studios.  We’re now off mixing, overdubbing and aligning stuff – all the crap you have to do with Pro Tools. No one has tape anymore!”

In addition to working on a new solo album, Beck has been working with Beach Boy Brian Wilson.  He recorded and toured with Wilson, but is not certain of the status of those recordings.

Beck also said he'd be interesting in peforming with his old friend, Jimmy Page.  Beck and Page were both members of the Yardbirds.  But, Beck says, "He's a dark horse, there's no doubt...if he ever comes up for grabs, they it'd make a good package."
